Is it right for me?
Easy Stride assists adults who already walk unaided. Check the three lists below before you book.

Good fit if
- You already walk unaided; hills, distance or long days are just more tiring than they used to be.
- You want help with effort and stamina, not with balance.
- Your waist measures 28 to 44 inches.
- You are 18 or over and will use it in the UK.
- You will read the first-use steps and start gently indoors.
Talk to us first if
- Balance is your main concern. Talk to your GP first, then to us.
- You have any health concerns. Check with your own doctor first.
- You want to take it abroad or on a flight.
- You plan to use it at work, with machinery or for sport.
- You are close to either end of the waist range.
- You are unsure whether a route or activity is suitable.
Not suitable if
- You are recovering from any form of surgery or medical procedure.
- You have any form of illness and/or long-term disability.
- You have mental or depressive tendencies.
- You are pregnant.
- You are under 18.
- You cannot stand, balance and walk independently, without a walking aid or another person.
- A doctor or other healthcare professional has advised you not to stand, walk or exercise.
- You have had alcohol, recreational drugs or any medication that can affect your balance, judgement or coordination.
- You feel unwell, dizzy, faint or unsteady.
- Your health or mobility has changed since you booked.
- You cannot understand or follow the instructions supplied with the Easy Stride.
If anything in "Not suitable if" applies, do not hire or use Easy Stride. This list is the same as the safety guide and forms part of your hire agreement. Easy Stride is not intended for medical treatment, rehabilitation or use as a substitute for a walking aid, medical device or professional care. It does not provide balance support.
Size and fit
One adjustable size, so there is nothing to choose at checkout.
| Waist | 28 to 44 inches (one adjustable size). Measure where a belt sits, over the clothes you will walk in. |
|---|---|
| Worn | Over normal clothes, usually trousers. No special footwear. |
| Weight of the unit | 1.8kg |
| Putting it on | Waist strap first, then the two leg straps. Snug, never tight. No tools. |
Where you can use it
Easy Stride is hired for recreational walking, indoors and out. It will not make an unsafe activity safe.
Fine, with care
- Indoors first. A clear space, low assistance level.
- Streets, paths and hills. Increase assistance gradually, only when you feel in control.
- Stairs, slopes and uneven ground. Move slowly, use a handrail and do not rely on it for balance.
- Light rain only. Otherwise keep it covered.
- Cold days. Performance reduces in freezing temperatures and battery life is shorter.
- Team or other sports. Take care and ask us first if unsure.
Not permitted
- Don't swim, bathe, shower or immerse Easy Stride or its batteries in water.
- In heavier rain, snow or spray: stop, switch off and keep it covered and dry.
- Don't drive whilst wearing an Easy Stride, switched on or off.
- Don't use it at work or with machinery unless we have approved it in writing.
- Don't let anybody else wear or use it. It is hired to you alone.
- Don't rely on it to keep your balance or to stop you falling.
- Don't use it after alcohol, recreational drugs or medication that can affect balance, judgement or coordination.
Stop straight away and contact us if you feel pain, dizziness, discomfort or unsteady on your feet.
If it doesn't work for you
Most first-walk problems are fit or settings. Re-fasten the waist strap above your hips, try a low level indoors and call 0330 229 7340 the same day (Mon to Fri, 9am to 5pm).
Where you stand on money
- 7 days or more before your hire starts: cancel for a full refund, no questions asked.
- Inside 7 days: we have already prepared a unit and set it aside for your dates, so the booking is not refundable.
- 14-day cooling-off: separate and always comes first. Online and phone orders can normally be cancelled within 14 days of booking. If the hire has already started at your request, you pay a proportionate amount for the hire supplied up to cancellation.
- After the cooling-off period: this is a fixed-term hire. You can post it back early at any time but an early end with money back for unused days is only by agreement with us.
- If it is faulty: stop using it. We arrange a repair, replacement, price reduction, refund or early end to the hire, with no charge for collection or redelivery.
Unsure? Start with the shortest hire. Full wording: hire terms, sections 12 and 14.
Travel and health
Taking it abroad or on a flight
Within the UK, take it wherever you like; have it delivered to the mainland UK address where your hire starts.
Without our written approval, the hire terms (11.5) do not allow you to take Easy Stride outside the United Kingdom, put it in checked baggage, send it through a different carrier or carry its lithium battery in a way that breaks carrier or aviation rules. Airline battery rules vary, so ask us before you book.
Talking to your GP or physio
We are not clinicians and cannot assess your health. If you have any health concerns, check with your own doctor before you start. If balance is your main concern, talk to your GP first, then to us. Useful things to tell them:
- It is a non-medical powered walking exoskeleton, worn at the waist and thighs, weighing 1.8kg.
- It assists the walking movement you are already making. It does not provide balance support and will not stop a fall.
- You must be able to stand, balance and walk independently, without a walking aid or another person.
- It is not a treatment or a rehabilitation programme.
We can't override advice from a healthcare professional. If your health or mobility changes after you book, tell us before you use it.
Booking for another adult
You can book and pay for a parent or partner. They must be 18 or over, meet everything in this check and be named on the order as the only wearer. Hirer and wearer roles.
This page is a summary. The safety guide and hire terms are the full versions and take priority if anything differs.
